What is MBTI®?
The MBTI® Personality Assessment is a psychometric questionnaire based on Carl Jung's theory of personality and is designed to measure psychological preferences in how individuals perceive and interact with the world. The original developers of the personality inventory were two women - Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers. Their efforts were focused on the need for women entering the workforce for the first time during World War II to understand where they would be "most comfortable and effective". Today, it is an excellent tool to discovering more about yourself and providing insight into how your personal preferences may impact your career choice and/or career development.
The prestige and reliability of MBTI® personality assessments require that the administration and interpretation of resulting reports is limited to trained professionals. As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern and Masters of Counseling graduate, I am able to interpret these assessments on behalf of my coaching and counseling clients.
Why MBTI®?
MBTI® is widely recognized as the world’s most popular personality assessment – a reported 2 million assessments are administered annually. It is used by individuals and organizations of all sizes to evaluate professional “fit” and to maximize productivity. Because the MBTI® assessment is copyrighted, free online personality tests do not compare with it’s thoroughness and accuracy. The complete MBTI® profile also recognizes the uniqueness of individual variability, providing additional insights regarding different “facets” of the basic personality preferences. Although the best judge of your true personality will always be you, the MBTI® can be a significant foundation for career planning. Once the assessment is completed, there are a variety of MBTI® reports that can assist you in your specific area of focus.

Review the available MBTI® reports. When you’ve selected the report you want, click on the “Order MBTI® Reports” button and continue through to the payment Cart. You will receive a purchase confirmation and, later, an email providing logon instructions for the MBTI® assessment. Once you receive the logon instructions, the online assessment can be taken at your convenience.
Choose a quiet time when you won’t be interrupted from completing the assessment and follow the Instructions for MBTI® Online Assessment. The online assessment takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Each question will present you with two options for response, forcing you to narrow down your preferences. You may find it difficult to choose responses for some of the questions, but it is best to select your immediate “gut” response for the best overall assessment results. You should also attempt to focus on how you really are, not how you think you “should” be, how others “think” you are, or how you would “like” to be.
How do I receive results from my MBTI® assessment and order a specific report?
The reported results from your MBTI© assessment and specific reports will be provided during an interpretive coaching session. To schedule the interpretive session (phone or face-to-face), use the online calendar link and select the “MBTI® report/session combo” button. USE THE COMMENTS SECTION OF THE REGISTRATION PROCESS TO STATE WHICH MBTI© REPORT YOU WANT TO ORDER, referring to the MBTI® reports list. Following completion of registration and payment, you will receive an email confirming your appointment date/time.
What specific MBTI® reports can I request?
The available reports have been grouped into 2 categories – Individual-focused versus Team-focused reports. Within the individual reports, there are 2 main focus areas – Career Exploration and Career Development. There is also an option for a full profile report, which may be used for general insight into personality preferences.
